Opening Day Ceremonies Cancelled
Please note that the GBA Board has decided to cancel our Opening Day Ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, April 25th due to weather. We will be re-scheduling this event for Saturday, May 2nd.
In addition, we are also cancelling the MLB Pitch, Hit, & Run Competition that was scheduled for Saturday, April 25th. Our anticipated make up date for this event is Sunday, May 3rd.
The Geneva Baseball Association has chosen Marklund as their charity to support during their Spring League 2015. Marklund is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of those with special healthcare needs by honoring the unique purpose of each individual. Marklund exists to make everyday life possible for children and adults with profound developmental disabilities.
Each team in the Association has the opportunity to create an "online" fundraising team to increase their chances of winning the big end of year fundraising prize- A chance to play at Marklund's Miracle Field with Marklund Residents!
We regret to inform you that the GBA Board has decided to cancel our planned Opening Day Ceremony and MLB Pitch, Hit, & Run Competition. We could not justify these events based on the conditions that are expected out at Peck Farm Fields tomorrow. Forecasts show wind chill in the 30's, with an 80%+ chance of rain by 9am Saturday. This type of weather would make for a miserable experience for all involved.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this decision causes, and know that this only affects the Ceremony & PHR Competition. Decisions on games will be made tomorrow and you will be notified by your team managers when those have been announced.
Our plan is to re-schedule both the Ceremony & PHR for Saturday, May 2nd. We are working out the details and will be giving those to teams in the next couple of days.
The game schedules for Rookie to Minor have been finalized and are now loaded on the Website.
4/23 Update - The full season Major and Pony Leagues have been completed and are being reviewed by the league presidents. Once they are approved we will load them on the website. The Pioneer schedule is being revised by Wasco and should be posted soon.
